3D NEEDLE FELTING WITH JO GARDINER ART
Join Jo for an evening workshop learning the skills of 3D needle felting whilst making this beautiful Wren brooch. You will learn layering, shaping and adding detail, working with bergschaff and marino wool.

SILVER CLAY WITH RACHEL ANNE JEWELLERY
Join Rachel learning this unique technique of silver making. You will be able to make, sculpt and personalize a couple of pieces of jewellery, whilst learning the process of rolling out, cutting molding, texturing, drying and sanding and how to fire silver clay, finishing with tumbling and ageing your pieces. You will create a minimum of 2 unique pieces.

ENAMELLING WITH MAD CAT GLASS
First Steps with Vitreous (glass) Enamel – with Lesley Nixon of Mad Cat Glass
In this session, you will learn the basics of torch enameling onto copper.
We will cover the basic health and safety involved in working with heat and enamel before exploring various ways in which you can apply enamel to a range of pre-cut shapes, using techniques such as such as sifting, stenciling and sgraffito. At the end of this introductory session you will come away with 2 or 3 pieces of finished jewellery, either pendants or earrings.

FUSED GLASS WITH SARAH MYATT GLASS
Join Sarah, a well established glass artist, to learn the skills and techniques of fused glass whilst making a large glass, curved seascape. You will learn about cutting, layering, slumping and firing. You will work with clear and coloured glass, learn how to design, cut and decorate shapes. Some workshops entail wire work.

CUTTLE FISH CASTING WITH WARMIGLOO
Using nature as a source you will design a pendent under the instruction of Chris Thompson of Warmigloo who will show you how to cast pewter into a Cuttlefish. With this 6000 year old process you will learn about 2 part molds, registration, pouring sprues, vents, pattern making, fettling and crucibles.

PORTRAIT SCULPTURE WITH LAUREN VAN HELMOND
Join Lauren for a full day where you can create your own human portrait, using tin, wire, washers, wood and paint. Selecting the main features of the animal or person, you will be able to produce a likeness by cutting and soldering sheet metal and wire. You will need to provide a good portrait photo prior to the workshop.

FELTWORKS WITH TYRA AND RUTH
Tyra and Ruth will be exhibiting in the Foxlowe Gallery from the 14th of March to the 2nd May 2020. They will also be running 3 sample felting workshops in conjunction with their gallery exhibition in our workshop space where they will show different ways of felting wool fibres.

STAINED GLASS WITH JOHN CORBETT
In this full day workshop, you will learn how to cut and grind glass, work with copper-foil and run a bead of solder with a soldering iron, you will then use these techniques to make a stained glass blue tit light catcher.
Places are limited to four persons per course to ensure plenty of hands-on coaching and individual attention.

CERAMIC POTTERY WITH PERRY CERAMICS
Join Perry to learn the skills of working with porcelain clay, you will create either tiles, bunting or decorations by rolling, adding texture and cutting the clay. Using various mark making processors, tools, papers, fabrics and stamps you can enjoy creating your own unique pieces

POTTERY WITH FOLKLAURA
Join Laura to make a fox or badger. In this workshop you will learn the techniques of working with slip, pottery sculpture, shaping, forming and detailing clay. You will also learn how to paint, shade and detail with glazes.

POTTERY WITH FOLKLAURA
Join Laura to make a planter and toadstool. During the first two workshops you will make a terracotta planter and Toadstool. In the third workshop you will be glazing your pieces.

Join Laura to make one of her gorgeous signature pieces, the popular gnome. These popular little chaps are great fun to make, you will learn the skills of sculpturing and detailing, glazing and adding finishing touches to make your gnome unique.

PEWTER WORKSHOP WITH PEWTER CONCEPTS
Join Caroline as she teaches you the antique art metal techniques of embossing thin, malleable sheets of metal with hand held tools to create a 3-dimensional decorative design. The techniques taught will include ageing to create a stunning mandala picture piece.

STAMP WORK WITH PENNY STAMP ARTIST
Join Penny to create collages of genuine postage stamps, with a bit of postal history too! You will be able to create two thematic pieces of art using postage stamps that are relevant to your chosen theme. Example could include animals, flowers, transport, trees or even a map made from the stamps of your chosen country. The list is endless!

SCREEN-PRINTING WITH SCRUFFY LITTLE HERBERT
Join designer and printer Esme, to learn the techniques of screenprinting. During this three hour session you will design a print, create a card stencil, learn about the techniques and experiment with the printing inks. You will get to practice your print on paper and fabric, before printing onto a tote bag, tea towel or apron.

INDIGO AND SHIBORI WORKSHOP WITH CATHEY YARDLEY
‘Shibori’ describes the ancient Japanese method of making patterns on cloth using folding, stitching, tying or wrapping. This workshop will introduce you to three basic techniques – stitched, pole wrapped and shape resist shibori – which you will use to pattern and dye a silk scarf. You will learn also about traditional indigo dyeing, including the mythology that surrounds this natural plant dye, and use the prepared dye vat to dye your scarf.

WATER COLOURS WITH JO GARDINER ART
Working from still life and samples, learn the techniques of painting with water colours. Learn the basics of creating beautifully detailed flowers and leaves, paint mixing, scaling and brush strokes.

SILVER SMITHING WITH JACQUELINE HAROLD
In this workshop with silversmith Jacqueline Harold, you will learn to make a spiral ring, during the session you will learn the techniques of adding texture, filing, oxidizing and polishing.

WET-FELTING WITH HANDMADE BY ADRIENNE
Beginner’s Felting: Make a Picture!
Fancy having a go at felting, but don’t know where to start? Come and make a picture with professional felt maker Adrienne, of Handmade by … Adrienne!
This 2 hour beginner’s workshop will introduce you to the ancient art of felt making. Using simple equipment and techniques dating back to the Iron Age, and contemporary needle felting, you will make a small picture suitable for use as a greetings card or framing. There will also be the chance to embellish your picture with simple embroidery stitches.
Simple subjects such as flowers, landscapes and seascapes are particularly suitable. If you have a favourite view, bring it along, or use one from Adrienne’s collection.
